Food Price Inflation Eases

(Press Association) – FOOD PRICE INFLATION EASED FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR in a sign that the worst of the shop price misery for consumers may be over, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) said.

Clothing and footwear saw the biggest price falls in the non-food sector, down 7.1% on a year ago, while electricals dropped 3.9%.
