Neighbourhood Police Seek Your Help On Arson Attacks

Neighbourhood PolicingPC CHRIS HOWELL and his colleagues at Canvey Police Station are appealing for your help concerning a string of arson attacks, which took place on the island, in the early hours of Sunday, 26th July.

The sequence of events, which all occurred in the space of an hour, was as follows:-

  • At 1:28am, a red Mazda motorcar was set ablaze in Linden Way.
  • At 1:36am, in Maple Way, a 7.5 ton Iveco curtain side lorry was set alight.
  • At 1:54am, in Aspen Close, a blue Vauxhall motor car was set ablaze.
  • At 2:01am, in First Ave, conifers were set on-fire. 
  • At 2:29am, in Second Ave, a black Ford motorcar was set ablaze.

Anyone with information, on any of these incidents, are asked to immediately contact Canvey Police on: 0300 333 4444.

  1. There was a similar type of arson attack in Clacton back in January in which four fires were started in the same road despite the police being present.

    The individual(s) concerned need to be caught quickly beofre they turn their attention to individual properties
